Keith Howell, Solutions Architect, here at Assurance Data presents at SchmooCon titled "All Your Codes Belong to Me".  The presentation was basically the security of alarm panels.

Summary: Alarm panels were designed before the prevalence of wireless technology and communicate with a proprietary protocol over a two-wire bus. The bus was designed for use between alarm panels, keypads and zone expanders. However this has now been extended to communicate with wireless sensors. This presentation revealed a method to capture the data on the bus and then later use the captured information to disarm an armed panel and open a secured area.
